In brief sentences, grouped one or two to a page and set against white space, the book offers information about baby animals' diet, grooming, communication, protection, and play. Throughout are inset pictures of animal body parts--hooves, lips, fingers, etc.--which are collected in a visual glossary on the last page, allowing young readers to hunt-and-seek for new vocabulary if the rest of the words prove too challenging.
