ELLEN F. GOLDMAN is a partner in Ernst & Young's health care strategic planning and marketing practice based in Washinton, D.C. Ms. Goldman has over 16 years of experience in health care planning and marketing, both as a corporate director of a vertically integrated health care system and as a consultant to general and speciality hospitals, health care systems, physician practices, ambulatory care centers, nursing homes, home health agencies, and health-related organizations. She has conducted over 150 client engagements throughout the United States in the areas of strategic planning, marketing, market research, business planning, mergers and acquisitions, organization and governance, strategic operations planning, managed care, and network formation. Ms. Goldman has published over 20 articles on health care planning and marketing topics and holds board positions with the Alliance for Healthcare Strategy and Marketing and the American Association of Healthcare Consultants. She holds a bachelor's degree in economics and community health from Tufts University, Medford, Massachusetts, and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Pittsburgh. KEVIN C. NOLAN is a partner in the strategy and marketing group of Ernst & Young's health care consulting practice. Druing his more than 15 years with Ernst & Young, Mr. Nolan has conducted over 300 strategic planning and marketing engagements for community hospitals, academic medical centers, multihospital systems, physician groups, long-term care providers, home health agencies, specialty facilities, and health care manufacturers and suppliers located throughout the United States. He has written several articles on strategic planning and is a frequent speaker at state and national meetings. Mr. Nolan received a bachelor's degree in government from the University of Notre Dame, Notre Dame, Indiana, and a master of management degree in hospital and health services management from Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois. He is a member of the American Association of Healthcare Consultants and the American College of Health Care Executives. Mr. Nolan also serves as an associate professor at Johns Hopkins University.
