Review:
From Owen Wister's "Virginian" to "High Noon" to "Tombstone" the Western has often had an undercurrent of romance. The love story may have been secondary to the action, but it was still there and played and important part. Cindy Smith and T.B. Burton have reversed the order in their novel TIME IN CONTENTION. The love story takes first billing and yet there is plenty of blazing gunfire. I think folks will enjoy this new approach as seen through the eyes of cupid's victims. --Jim Dunham, Booth Western Art Museum, Director of Special Projects/Historian
When T.B. asked me to do the photography for this book, I thought it would be something special. After reading it, I understood just how special. It was a great read, and the characters really come to life. Thanks for letting me be a part of it! --Don Contreras, Photographer 'We Dance Because We Can" - 1996; "The Cowboy Way" - 2002
