Menning’s professional teaching career started in his teens when he taught a guitar class for a local community college. He has now taught students from pre-school through college and has taught electronics, computer technology, math, management, public speaking, cartooning, music, and media production. Menning grew up in Iowa and received his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Iowa State University. He then became a micro-electronic design-engineering manager for five years where he won manager of the year twice. He has been a professor at Full Sail University since 1990. Menning has been elected chairman of his local middle school and high school advisory councils and was elected Co-Chairman of the APSCU National Collegiate Awards Committee. He has also been faculty advisor for the Full Sail Grammy University chapter and Audio Engineering Society. Hunter Menning’s career has been filled with strong leadership and extreme forward motion to make a positive difference. He and his family have even been foster parents to twelve children and they sponsor several children in foreign countries through World Vision. Menning’s gift is his ability to reach and connect with students. He captivates every student and causes success to pour out of his classrooms.
