Susan Tobey Macomber was born at home in the central Maine town of Guilford. Sue attended New Mexico State University, studying liberal arts. She moved to Vermont, became a Hatha Yoga instructor, teaching in the Chittenden County area for twenty-six years, thirteen of them at the University of Vermont. For the past six years, Sue has volunteered in the pastoral care department at the FAHC hospital. She is a member of Community Lutheran Church. Sue became interested in poetry in the mid nineties. She and her husband Dale have resided in South Burlington for nearly forty years. They have two married daughters and four grandchildren, ages six months to thirteen years.
