However, soon after ragaining courage, he had his hand on his sword when she addressed him in a frosty tone: "Stop for one moment. I want to tell you something. Afterwards, I'll address two of your comrades. You'll make a definitive decision then."
"Make it quick, because you haven't more than a few seconds left to live!" he shouted, clutching his sword. His anger, briefly interrupted by his extreme surprise, was regaining new strength with every heartbeat.
