I'm just me; knowing that I evolve daily I realize in my own life's process I have and will face challenges. In those challenges there will be a new me daily; preparing myself to set foot in life's cycle each day I do so knowing life's lessons are constructed/allowed for my growth. I can be in denial of the inevitable or choose to apply what I've learned for the purpose it was intended. Through Gods love and love of self, I'm able to live happily within Me; and share some of my principles of living through poetry. I'm just me; what that means to you will be determined by the end of my works. Be the best at being you! No one else can! Derek R. Crudup*

Who is he and how does he qualify as an authority? Derek Ronaldo Crudup is the son of Birten Harold Crudup and Emma Lee Crudup, younger brother of DeWanda Latrice Crudup. Born and raised on the northwest side of Detroit Michigan, where he injects mentally subdued thoughts of a world created within serenity and closure in order to escape the destruction of the everyday urban jungle. As a child he was described as an introvert/passive; He would self contain the pain and thoughts of his immediate surroundings only to express them through his artistic abilities (writings/drawings). From a child on through adult years his process of life has brought about a change in him but the core of him struggled to remain the same. As a man of strong faith, he has been charged by God to become the best man of God he can become; as a father of two sons (Cerek Crudup and Kamron Crudup), entrepreneur and pillar amongst his community in his own right; he is accomplishing just that. You ask who Derek is; he s a black man made in God s image... You ask who made him an authority; the same creator who made him a black man and who created you! The difference between Derek R. Crudup and anyone else is he made a choice to spread his voice for the purpose of progression through his talent of poetry. He encourages you to cultivate your cause before God calls you home. We all should aspire to inspire; doing great things doesn't always have to be big things. Play your role; doesn't matter how big or small.
