Done with collage and brightly colored "found paper," the artwork features a group of bunnies that stop by various community shops to pick up supplies for a clean-up day and picnic in the park. Starting with 10 and ending with none, the number of characters diminishes as each one of them enters a store. Their outfits and accessories provide a clue as to who will make the next stop and temporarily disappear from the pages. The bunny holding the paintbrush stops by the paint store, while the one holding a book goes to the library. After picking up the day's supplies, all 10 arrive at the park ready to work-and then play. Wallace has combined bright complementary colors in an attractive layout that will entertain a young audience. By using recycled materials in the artwork itself, she has cleverly combined the medium with a message of caring for the local community and its resources.
