Review:
"...I have a very good feeling about this book. It's not very 'text bookish,' yet the book still includes lots of very important information. The writing style is quite personal--it's as if the author is speaking directly to the reader, not simply spewing out facts and figures. She's telling a story and including herself in the story, which should immediately involve the reader/student.""I was impressed with the concise nature in which the chapters were written. From the beginning of each chapter you know where the author is going and the text does not waiver. You get the point, it is backed up with fact, story or strategy and the reader is then asked to reflect on his/her position. This is all done in fewer than 20 pages instead of the typical 40 pages, yet nothing is missing.""[The writing and reflection exercises] ...are useful because they provide students with a chance to critically think of issues chapter has explored, and gives them a chance probe more deeply into their own experiences. I especially appreciate the references to a Supreme Court ruling on the Establishment Clause (Case of Santa Fe Independent School District V Doe in 2000). I think they occur with the right frequency, and would not suggest any modifications.""I LOVE THE TIME AND ATTENTION YOU GIVE TO GIFTED EDUCATION!!! Excellent models of project-based learning in history and geography...."
