More importantly however, it will get them thinking with all the hidden meaning and symbolism in the work. The author’s clever and often brilliant use of English language tools is a pleasure to behold. The novel is loaded with a delightful variety of literary devices. There is also a masterful mix of descriptive language to help bring scenes and imagery to life. The characters also burst from the page in an explosion of adjectives and careful character build-up. The easy, flowing style of the author makes for pleasurable reading. An intelligently crafted novel that should not be taken at face value – it’s one to be pondered upon and scrutinised carefully!
