For preclinical medical students (USMLE Step 1 and UK undergraduates), the basic science involved in each case will be of importance; while at higher levels, in the clinical years and postgraduate study (MRCP, MRCS, USMLE Steps 2 and 3), the clinical aspects of the cases will be of great value with the basic science used for revision.
