Synopsis

Written by a psychologist, this book shows people how to bounce back after personal set backs. The suicide of his partner shocked Tony Vickers-Willis to his core. It got him motivated to better understand WHY, and learn how we can help others bounce back from traumatic life challenges that are inevitably thrown at us all. Seven years later he turned that tragedy and his research into Bouncing Back with CHANGES, which helps build resilience to fight depression, anxiety and stress. The book is grounded in positive psychology. It tells a unique eyewitness account of an inspiring true life story and then reflects on 100 years of empirical research to uncover important clues to bouncing back. These clues include: * highlighting the importance of the choices we make, * understanding the effects of values and abilities passed to us from our families, * learning how to build positive attitudes, * understanding how to strengthen our support, * setting goals to kick start new futures, * controlling our emotions and stress Practical exercises are also included to help readers apply the information to their own life. Tony wrote a book that includes the information he wished had been passed onto his partner.
