Synopsis
The DIME! DOS Testing Program includes a quiz (Prueba) for each lesson, an exam (Examen) for each unit, oral situation cards for each unit, a Midyear Exam, and a Final exam. Each lesson quiz and unit exam consists of four parts designed to allow students to demonstrate growth in listening comprehension (Cornprension oral), mastery of forms and vocabulary taught (Lengua en contexto), reading comprehension and acquisition of cultural concepts (Lectura y cultura), and written language skills (Redaccion). Because semester and final grading is often done in very limited time, the Midyear and Final Exams do not include an integrated writing section, though optional topics for writing are suggested. The lnteracciones situation cards allow teachers to periodically evaluate progress in spoken language.
The four sections of each quiz or exam correspond to specific components of the instructional program as follows: Comprension oral, Lengua en contexto, Lectura y cultura, and Redaccion.
