He won two Academy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and two Tony Awards as well as nominations for three BAFTA Awards and three Emmy Awards. March and his wife starred as the General and Miss Graves in the 1950 Broadway production of Bemelmans' play Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep.
