From Library Journal:
If readers make more of an effort than is reasonable to expect, they will find this book fascinating. It sums up a study, conducted over 25 years with 6000 white- and blue-collar males, of what makes today's ambitious men tick. As Blotnick sees it, there are four basic male types: the self-made man whose interest is in making money; the smooth-talking service employee who likes to hobnob with the right people; the rough-and-ready manual worker who goes his own way; and the creative loner who enjoys things of the mind. The author offers some valuable wisdom about these types, but more as insights scattered throughout for the reader to glean than as a strong, clear thesis. It is hard to pause at the end of any chapter and summarize. Worthwhile nonetheless and recommended. A. J. Anderson, Graduate Sch . of Library & Information Science, Simmons Coll., Boston
