Reviews

$19.95. sports In a mind-over-matter approach, Wanless asserts that imagining one's body doing certain movements helps it to perform that way. She presents dismounted exercises to make the rider aware of how the body should feel in certain riding maneuvers, then tells the rider to remember the feeling while on the horse in order to achieve a better technique. The minute analysis of riding movements and the use of mental images are similar to Sally Swift's Centered Riding ( LJ 4/1/85), a better choice for purchase. Wanless rambles, quotes heavily from other mental-approach sports books, and loses the reader's interest long before she accomplishes her goal. Not recommended. Joanne K.
