From Library Journal

This book by a TV Guide staff writer contains much of value for parents and others concerned with child protection, but, because it covers so many topicskidnapping, child abuse, incest, molestation, and child pornography, to name just somethe treatment tends to be superficial. The problems are discussed and strategies for protection are outlined. Pointing to the failure of established agencies, the author gives concrete suggestions for citizen action, the advocacy of which is one of his major themes. A summary of the main points of a model legislative packet is included. Walsh, whose six-year-old son was kidnapped and murdered, has contributed an eloquent and heartfelt foreword. Townley lacks his effective style, but he conveys some very important messages. Recommended for public libraries. Anne Twitchell, Mote Marine Lab. Lib., Sarasota, Fla.
