YA An eagle swoops down and picks up an infant from his yard in eastern Ken tucky. The mother is frantic as she watches the eagle fly off towards its nest. The neighbors, police, national guard, and state troopers all work to recover the child. Necco Tufferelli, a shell- shocked Vietnam vet, rescues the infant from the nest but will not give him back to the parents. The plot twists and turns to keep readers interested in Joshua's fate. Characters are quickly introduced and drawn into the action, adding intrigue as the plot develops. Readers will be satis fied with the final outcome of the book. There are several graphic descriptions of battle scenes in Vietnam that might be chilling to some readers, but most will find it worthwhile reading. Susan Pen ny, Houston Public Library
