Praise for William E. Holland's Moscow Twilight
"A spy thriller that covers its Soviet ground as convincingly as its American....Holland clearly knows what life is like from all sides....portrayed with convincing realism and compassion...." --Julia Watson, Washington Post
"A super book....on par with Gorky Park." --Connie Woodcock, The Toronto Sun
"Superb. The credible plot is firmly anchored in the reality of a crumbling Soviet political life, the setting in the reality of crumbling Soviet streets. Not to be missed." --Kirkus Reviews
"A distinctive and absorbing thriller...." --Peter Mergendahl, Rocky Mountain News
"William Holland's novel captures both the grimness and the hope in today's Russia." --Lawrence S. Connor, Indianapolis Star. "The spy thriller Moscow Twilight has no right to be as good as it is....Holland shows a keen sensitivity to the place and the people....a delicate look at a delicate time." (Harry Levins, St. Louis Post-Dispatch)
William E. Holland is the author of two previous novels: the widely acclaimed Moscow Twilight, and Let a Soldier Die, one of the most memorable novels to emerge from the Vietnam War, in which he served as a U.S. Army helicopter pilot. He is one of the leading lawyers advising Western companies on trade with Russia, where he spends several months a year. A partner in the New York law firm of Chadbourne & Parke, Mr. Holland is a Rhodes Scholar and a graduate of Stanford University Law School. His wife, the former Olga Lusnikova, was expelled from the Soviet Union as a political dissident in 1986.
