Maslow's third Force Psychology rejects Freud's view of man as a grasping creature dominated by base instincts. It denies the concept of the Behaviorists who see man simply as an animal responding mechanistically to environmental stimuli. Maslow and others are developing a new image of man. He is one in whom love is inborn and who finds self-realization in contributing to the good of society. Goble distills the theories underlying Humanistic Psychology.
