This book will emphasize fixing practical networking applications like shared printers, using the Internet, and sharing files. It does not get into the specifics of protocols or specific applications (i.e. Lotus Notes), but provides "Reader's Digest" overviews of topics like PC's, Unix, NT, Novell, Routers, and Firewalls, that impart the broad principles behind the technologies. Similarly, it allows readers to troubleshoot their specific applications by imparting broad principles at the expense of implementation specifics.

About the Author
Jonathan Feldman works with Unix, Netware, Windows NT, and a whole football team of networking gear for the Chatham County Government in Savannah, GA. A multi-disciplinary troubleshooting expert, Jon has also programmed everything from medical office applications to video games. He is a Level II Certified NetAnalyst and writes regularly for SysAdmin and Network Computing magazines. He has also contributed to SCO Magazine, and The Guru. Network tools that he's written have been downloaded by the likes of SCO, Cisco Systems, BellSouth, and NASA.
