Synopsis
This indictment of the East India Company which stemmed from Misselden's testimony before the Standing Commission on Trade became the opening salvo in the famous balance of trade controversy with Malynes. To ensure orderly competition, Misselden supported a form of oligoplistic market structure and introduced a number of policy proposals, including the devaluation of the English currency.
