Hardcover. Condition: Very Good. Colin Thompson (illustrator). First edition thus. First published in the U.K. by Julia MacRae in 1993, this is the first printing of a new American edition. Colin Thompson's illustrations are the sort you can look at for ages. Detailed, complex, fantastical, humorous, and totally absorbing. He creates whole, impossible worlds under the floorboards, or beneath a bed, or just about anywhere. Great stuff. This copy has the ghost of some writing in the laminate of the front cover (you have to get the light just right to see it), and there's a small "Reading for all!" sticker on front pastedown, but a very good copy indeed as issued, without dust jacket.
