The Shore Fast Line electric railway/ trolley line (formally the Atlantic City and Shore Railroad) , operated between Atlantic City and Ocaen City, New Jersey from 1906 through 1948. It ran for some 11 miles and also served the communities of Pleasantville, Northfield, Linwood and Somers Point. As with most such lines, it was replaced by buses and automobiles (a hurricane contributed to its demise as well). Interestingly, it is believed one of the sqaures on the board game "Monopoly", in its earliest days, named for the Atlantic and Ocean City; when the game was patented by Charled Darrow, the name was shortened to "Short Line". Published in 1979, Borgins book came out during the renaissance of Atlantic City and the author urged the building of a light rail line to service the area. Seller Inventory # E30368
