About the Author

Marilyn J. Rymniak is the Executive Director of' International Products and Programs for Kaplan Educational Centers. For 25 years, she has been a foreign language/ESL specialist and leader in the international education field, holding national and regional positions with NAFSA: Association of International Educators and TESOL.

A sociolinguist and international and comparative educator by training, she has taught in, administered, and developed curricula for campus-based Intensive English Programs in California and New York, including those at the University of California at San Diego, University of California at Los Angeles, University of California at Irvine, the California State University system, and Manhattanville College. She has held overseas teaching and curriculum development positions in Spain, France, England, Iran, and Saudi Arabia and can communicate in six languages.

Ms. Rymniak sits on the Board of Directors of Metro International in New York City and is an Intercultural Communication trainer for BDX InterFace, Inc. of Connecticut. She was a Fulbright Scholar to Germany.
