About the Author
Paul Newman, Academy Award winning actor, founded Newman's Own in 1982 and donates 100% of his profits after taxes from the company to educational and charitable causes. A.E. Hotchner, Newman's partner, has written more than 12 books and numerous plays.

In fact, many of the recipes are from elementary school classes, winners in the kids category of Newman's annual Good Housekeeping recipe contest. The Hole in the Wall Gang refers to the camps Newman has established (the first one in Connecticut; now there are six in all, with two in Europe) for children with cancer and other serious blood diseases; all profits from the book will benefit the camps.
