About the Author:
François Rabelais serait né en 1494 en Touraine, mais aucune certitude n établit clairement ses origines. Il se tourne d abord vers la théologie, puis se rapproche des humanistes et, en 1530, il entreprend des études de médecine à Montpellier. Il est nommé médecin à l Hôtel-Dieu de Lyon en 1532.
