Synopsis
It is a Sunday in April, and the town of Friendship in southwestern Missouri lies directly in the path of tornadoes that seem almost certain to strike before nightfall. Already a forerunner has leveled a house, owned by Clint Blamey, on the outskirts. But even more is afoot in Friendship this morning to disturb its equanimity. In the leveled Blamey house, a woman lies dead, a victim of murder...

About the Author
Jon Cleary (1917 2010) was an Australian writer and novelist. He wrote numerous books, including "The High Commissioner", the first of a long series of popular detective novels featuring Sydney police inspector Scobie Malone. Several of his works have been adapted for television and film.
