Taking off clothes and putting them on are the subjects of these two concise board books; item by item a child goes from rainy day wet gear to a warm bath or bundles up against a chilly day. Not one word is wasted nor is the concept expendable: these are books about process as well as about naming. Tafuri uses intense puddles of watercolor, set off by a white background, for the objects, which are shown again in the final scene. But the child in each book looks rather gluma surprising response to such jolly books. Ages 9 months-3 years.
