Hochheiser believes that job security is a mirage and the only certainty a person can have regarding a job is that change will occur at some point in time. Believing that employees should be participants rather than spectators in this game of organizational life, he provides advice on how to understand and anticipate change, how to prepare for and benefit from it, and how to use company politics to get ahead and stay ahead. It is his contention that in the final analysis it's the individual and not the organization that controls a person's fate. While nothing new or profound is provided, the book is entertaining and accessible and should find a readership among public library patrons.
