Grade 3-8-- Zubrowski has proven himself a master at exploring the science of common objects, and this book on reflecting surfaces is no exception. In clear language, he turns most of the demonstrations into a game with engaging titles such as ``Mirror Monsters'' and ``Creating Magical Illusions.'' Only common materials are employed, and safety concerns are more than adequately noted. A clear explanation of the physics follows each demonstration that, other than geometry angles, is math-free. Overall, the projects are original, clever, and clearly ``kid-tested.'' Doty's cartoon ink drawings add to the fun. --Alan Newman, American Chemical Society, Washington, DC
