PreSchool-K?Ziefert has taken two traditional tales and added a twist (or a split to be more exact). The texts are close to most popular retellings of the classic stories. Rader's watercolor cartoons are humorous and nicely detailed. However, some children may be confused by whether the top or bottom half of the split pages should be opened first. (There is a directive on the backs of the books). While the format may attract browsers, it also makes the books awkward for story time use.
