About the Author
Art Ginsburg has been appearing as Mr. Food for more than fifteen years, and his show is the largest food news insert in the nation, seen in more than four hundred cities. Touchdown Wings
4 to 6 servings
Let's put out a platter of these crispy wings to kick off our next Bowl game. Oh--don't forget lots of napkins!
2 sticks (1 cup) butter, melted
1 envelope (1 ounce) onion soup mix
1 teaspoon ground red pepper
5 pounds chicken wings (see Note)
Preheat the oven to 425 degrees. In a medium bowl, combine the butter, onion soup mix, and ground red pepper; mix well. Coat 2 large rimmed baking sheets with nonstick cooking spray. Place the chicken wings on the baking sheets and spoon the butter mixture evenly over them. Bake for 20 minutes, or until no pink remains and the wings are crispy.
Note: Five pound bags of split wings are usually available in the frozen meat section of your supermarket and they're perfect for this recipe. Just make sure they're thawed before using.
Eye of a Hurricane
About 1 1/2 quarts, 4 to 6 Servings
It's the perfect time to throw a party and refresh the gang with a tropical-tasting "pick-me-up." This is a nonalcoholic spin-off of the popular drink traditionally enjoyed by Mardi Gras revelers!
1 can (12 ounces) frozen tropical punch concentrate, thawed
1 bottle (7 ounces) Roses' sweetened lime juice
1 liter lemon-lime-flavored seltzer
Combine all the ingredients in a large pitcher; mix well. Serve in individual glasses over ice.
Note: For a real eye-popping Hurricane, garnish each glass with an orange slice and a cherry.
