The last to ask the question is a child, and the answer is, "Mommy is here!" The minimal text and large, soft watercolor illustrations are reminiscent of Nancy Tafuri's work. Each question is centered on its own white page with the baby animal opposite, followed by a spread filled with parent and baby, and the answer. The book's simplicity is underlined by this consistent pattern. This title will be comforting for babies, while for toddlers, the question can become a refrain and each answer, a guessing game.
