A small fairy with a very big nose gets unexpected results when she uses her magic wand to make her nose smaller.

Text: English, French (translation)
Kindergarten-Grade 2 A small fairy is very unhappy with her long nose, especially when it begins to drip and she must stop visiting newborn babies for fear of giving them colds. Experiments with her magic wand prove unsuccessful. Her nose turns a variety of colors but not one bit shorter. She then sets off to visit a number of other fairies, none of whom can help her. In frustration she breaks her magic wand, and with that she turns into a human with a perfect little nose. Boujon uses very simple styled drawings in pastels to match his modest story. Unfortunately this book is a little like the fairy's wand: it seems to lack that extra little spark of magic it needs to succeed. Judith Gloyer, Milwaukee Public Library
