About the Author
Laura Godwin, who also writes under the pen name Nola Buck, is the author of several books for children, including Oh, Cats!, Creepy Crawly Critters, and two previous books in the Happy Honey series, Happy and Honey and Honey Helps. Ms. Godwin was born and raised in Alberta, Canada, and currently lives in New York City.

Kindergarten-Grade 2-Happy the dog and Honey the cat are best friends. Honey does not like the cold wind until Happy shows her how she can stay warm by playing in the leaves. The charming acrylic illustrations in autumn colors against white backgrounds show the two animals racing across the pages. The format and simple sentences make this title appropriate for beginning readers, who will smile at the characters' antics while practicing their newly acquired skills.

K-Gr. 1. This level-one title is the third in the Happy Honey series of Ready-to-Read books. Happy the dog likes fall just as much as Honey the cat. Together they play with geese, pumpkins, and falling leaves; together they have fun, despite the cold wind that blows and chills; and together they enjoy a nap. With lots of word repetition, simple sentences, and familiar language, this should attract new readers to the pleasure of the story.
