Synopsis
It's a sizzling hot summer's day at Buttercup Cottage.
Little Red and her friends are packing the wonky wooden wagon and readying for the River Noodle Boating Bonanza. Little Red, Little Blue, Gino the dog, even Roany the pony are giddy with excitement for a splendiforous summer day on the River Noodle. The prize for the winner of the Boating Bonanza is a magical Key to the wonky wooden wagon. But when a pesky magpie flies down and swoops up the key, Little Red and her friends are worried that their super summer will be ruined. Just in time, Little Red, with the help of her sack of smiles and her bestest friends, comes to the rescue. About the Author
Sarah Ferguson, The Duchess of York, is the author of several children’s books, including Ballerina Rosie; Tea for Ruby, illustrated by Robin Preiss Glasser; and the Little Red series as well as a memoir, Finding Sarah. The Duchess is a devoted spokesperson for many charitable organizations, including Changes for Children. She has two daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie.
Sam Williams is the author, illustrator, and designer of numerous picture books for young children. Some of the books he’s lent his talent to include Baby Cakes and Baby ,I Love You by Karma Wilson. He recently put down his paintbrushes and took up the challenge to climb Mount Blanc. Sam lives with his wife in Hertfordshire, England.

PreS–Syrupy dialogue overwhelms this latest story about Little Red. The River Noodle Boating Bonanza is always so much fun. What a buzz of a day! Little Red judges the boats that her animal friends create and selects a winner. The soft pencil-and-watercolor illustrations do a nice job of conveying the action. Imaginative boats include a gravy boat, a teacup, a boot, and a watering can; the animals riding in them are lively and have personality.
