About the Author

Dr. Chrystyne Olivieri is a Family Nurse Practitioner. She received her DNP (Doctor of Nursing Practice) from Stony Brook University. She has studied diabetes for over 30 years and currently practices in Endocrinology. She is also a full-time Graduate Nursing Professor at Long Island University, Brookville, NY. The subject of her doctorate project was “Using the Paleo Diet to Prevent Prediabetes Progression to Type 2 Diabetes in High Risk Individuals”. She is dedicated to Functional Medicine principles and teaches these very principles to the next generation of Nurse Practitioners in the classroom and in clinical settings.
