About the Author

Ryan Teixeira, a native of California s Central Coast, was a role model for everyone he met, young and old, whether on the baseball field or in everyday life. Just months after signing a baseball scholarship with Colorado Mesa University in 2014, at the age of eighteen, Ryan was diagnosed with Ewing's Sarcoma, a rare form of cancer. He battled through nine months of treatment with a positive attitude and an infectious smile. A year after finishing treatment and beating Ewing's Sarcoma, Ryan developed Leukemia, a side effect from his previous intense chemo treatment. Ryan wrote The Toad's Code while battling Leukemia in the hospital. A few months later Ryan passed away, but not without leaving a legacy and changing lives.
