Across all cultures it has been known for thousands of years that "all disease begin in the gut." Human gut is about 25 feet long and carries 100 trillion microbes that make the human gut a very efficent bioreactor with many functions key to human health such as regulation of metabolism, immune balance, digestive processes and more.
Research over the years has reconfirmed that a healthy digestive system in fact is the key for overall health & wellness. Clean functional foods, probiotics, spices, herbs, fresh organic fruits and vegetables need to be a part of everyday life. As a board certi ed Integrative Gastroenterologist of Indian descent, I plan to bring a wholistic viewpoint on how our food plates should look. Eat clean, be well.

Thanks for a succinct, intelligent, and pertinent treatment of this topic. So many books are filled with fluff and require one to search for the useful information. Looking forward to your future works. tafnd
Dr. Sharma's has helped me get my Ulcerative Colitis under control. I really appreciate his approach to wellness because he looks to solve the problem rather than just the symptoms. He puts a lot of emphasis on gut health. He allowed me to read this incredibly informative book even before it was published. His suggestion to incorporate kefir into my diet has paid great dividends. Not only does kefir cost less than traditional probiotic supplements, it has also been more effective and more enjoyable. It has a surprisingly great taste and has become a part of my family's daily routine. I recommend you try it. And I recommend you read this book so that you can find gut happiness.
I recommend probiotics for all of my patients. What better way to include these into your diet than by incorporating them with delicious recipes which are in this book. I highly recommend this book to anyone who takes probiotics/supplements on a daily basis for general well being, have medical conditions that require being on a probiotic (i.e. IBS), or anyone who would like to cook and enjoy a delicious gut-happy meal. Saurabh Gambhir, M.D. Family Physician
This book was a very informative resource! Our son has chronic GI issues and I have always been curious about how probiotics might help him. The book was a very helpful and user friendly guide to understanding what probiotics are and what benefit they can have to better digestive and overall health. There are some great recipes included, as well! Will definitely reference this book many more times in the future! Nirmal Joshi, M.D. - Anesthesiologist
This is a fantastic book on probtiotics. If you are considering taking probiotics this is a must read!
