About the Author

Bruce Conrad Davis was a principal in the Garvey School District in Rosemead,California. Under his leadership, Emerson School received the California Distinguished School award. In 1995 Davis was chosen unanimously as a Reader’s Digest Hero in Education.That year the ASCD produced an award winning video entitled Multicultural Education, profiling some of his innovative work. He has been a speaker on educational topics for the ASCD, the NESPA, the California Association of Bilingual Education and the Los Angeles County Office of Education. He taught as an adjunct professor for Pepperdine and California Lutheran Universities. At California Lutheran he taught school governance at the graduate level. He has written for and served on the editorial advisory boards of Instructor,Educational Leadership and The Sun newspapers. A prolific writer for magazines,television and radio,his book, How To Involve Parents in a Multicultural School was a best seller for the ASCD. How to Involve Parents in a Multicultural School provides award-winning strategies that have been praised nationally and internationally. He grew up on a cattle ranch in western South Dakota,knows how to ride and rope and loves gypsy and straight ahead jazz. He loves to read, primarily non-fiction, and travel with his wife.
