Lauren Hill was a volunteer at the Guilford County Animal Shelter when Susie was found and rescued. She wrote Susie's Story to tell the true story of this small, brave pup. Proceeds from the sale of this book are donated to animal shelter or rescue organizations shelter in Susie's name.

When she is not writing, Lauren volunteers the Guilford County Animal Shelter and other animal rescue organizations. She has met and cared for hundreds of dogs in all shapes, sizes and personalities.
