THIS IS THE ONLY SITE WHERE PROCEEDS GO DIRECTLY TO THE AUTHOR) "We Do the Damndest Things" is a sequel to Gap's first book, "We Married Adventure" (Available in a separate listing). It is a true story of an Italian American man going West with his young wife and starting a family in the wilds of Jackson Hole in the 70s. Gap, Peggy and their girls lived off the land in the high mountains of the Gros Ventre Wilderness. Leaving the comforts of modern day America, they faced all the challenges that Mother Nature threw at them. There was no running water, electricity, phone or television. Their best friends were "God" and each other, the wild animals that roamed outside their door, their herd of "Morgan Horses", and old-time Jackson Hole cowboys. Their lifestyle and most of the old cowboys are now gone-but what a time they had! "We Do the Damndest Things" is a wonderful American adventure story of a family living a way of life that most people can only dream about. This book received a first place award in 2016 from The Wyoming State Historical Society. It was presented in the Publications Category for Biography or Autobiography. Gao is currently working on the 3rd and final book of the Trilogy and hopes to have it ready by the end of 2020.
