Jimmy Harris may not be the swiftest lawyer on the Central Coast. He would tell you so himself. Though, he might be the funniest. And maybe Janet Mason is not the ideal client. But she's a star. Desperate Shop Girls was the hottest show on television for the past five years. Now the hottest show is in the quaint seaside town of San Buenasara since she retained Jimmy to sue Guy Mason, the big developer, for divorce. I mean what with the mob and everything. Janet's staying up at Franklin Farms, a Guy Mason development. It's a killer project that Janet wants Jimmy to derail. Who knows why? Our boy's in way over his head. And developments could sink him. If he doesn't get shot first. Jeez.

About the Author:
David L. Gersh, the celebrated author (he celebrates quite often) is a recovering corporate lawyer whose long and checkered career started with his first deal, when he was sent to the great metropolis of New York for two days at the behest of his boss, Mickey Rudin. It was to participate on behalf of Frank Sinatra in the sale of a bedraggled Hollywood movie studio to a small funeral home company (now known as Time-Warner). He returned two and a half months later, sidetracking a promising future as an impoverished poet. He attended Harvard Law School quite by accident. He is now a retired partner of one of the great international law firms, Paul Hastings, which he still loves dearly, from afar. He lives in Santa Barbara, California.
