About the Author

Dona Fox writes short stories and poetry - horror and dark fantasy infused with bits of science fiction and the paranormal. Dona spent her childhood on the Ferris wheel in Oaks Park just over the Sellwood Bridge in Portland, Oregon. From there she went to Seattle, Washington where she hung out in the semi-famous Last Exit on Brooklyn and the infamous Hideout Bar. Specters from the Northwest's forests, Portland's bridges and Seattle's Pike and Pine streets may creep into her dark tales. Currently, Dona lives near California’s gold country with an Abyssinian cat, a Standard Schnauzer, her husband, and foxes. Review

"Dona Fox had me with her first story, 'Smoky Martini.' Creepy and atmospheric, it sets the stage for Dark Tales from the Den, her new collection of shorts. My favorites, along with 'Smoky Martini,' were 'Crawlspace'--suitably claustrophobic and disturbing--and the devastating 'Grace at the End.' Fox shows her deft hand for creating atmosphere and mood in these 18 shorts. Very much recommended!"
-John F.D. Taff, Bram Stoker-Nominated Author of The End in All Beginnings

"You know that feeling when you suddenly wake from a nightmare, your heart racing and your body shaking with terror? That's the feeling DONA FOX captures with every macabre story in this excellent collection. She masterfully crafts each tale with an eerie, dream-like quality. My personal favorites were the creepy 'Crawl Space' and 'Grace at the End,' but every story is a heartfelt gem that will leave you breathless. I am blown away by Fox's talent and eagerly await her next work.
-J. MICHAEL MAJOR, multi-award winning author of ONE MAN'S CASTLE.
