About the Author

I have always loved doing things with my hands. Over the years, this led me to knitting, sewing, needlepoint, crewel and counted thread. Eventually my house began to look like a shop. Ten years ago my interest and joy in knitting really took off. After deciding to knit a gift for each of my friends and close relatives, I began collecting knitting books. (I have 350!). I devoted time to learning new techniques and accumulated knitting needles and supplies. I went to knitting expos and meet-ups. Then I got an idea! What could be better than to turn my love of knitting into an online business? That is how Jane's Knitting Kits got started. As an avid knitter, I longed for one book that seemed to be missing from my collection - a single book that would give me the information I needed for quick and frequent reference, a way to keep track of my yarn stash and a place to put the projects I was working on. I wanted design pages to satisfy my urge to design, to sketch ideas, and make notes. Of the knitting journals already published, no book combined all of these useful items together. The journal is very useful. It would be nice if it were a three-ring notebook so we could add content and patterns, but it has a lot of useful reference material and pockets for saving printouts, etc. The graph paper is regular graph paper, not knitter's graph paper. I would like to have some of both kinds. The chart with info about yarn weights doesn't include wpi info, which would have been useful. --Amazon Customer

I used to think hard copy journals were unnecessary now that we have Ravelry to digitally record the specifics of our projects. I've seen plenty of knitting journals in the books stores and was unimpressed. A notebook from Wal-mart would done the trick as well as those.
