Synopsis

The Architecture of Cybersecurity is not a law treatise, nor does it provide a comprehensive in-depth analysis of the multiple issues that cybersecurity presents. As a guide for board members, executives, and general counsel it provides an overview of cybersecurity issues that confront companies. It defines issues, and it suggests questions to consider in creating and implementing a cybersecurity plan. In doing so, this book aims to assemble and provide the raw materials the laws and security standards needed to begin building an overall cybersecurity program.

The book is made up of two parts:

1. An overview of key management issues, including the Essential Protections for Your Company, the Role of Attorneys in Cybersecurity, Board and Management Duties and Responsibili- ties, Protecting Intellectual Property, Particularly Trade Secrets, Privacy and the FTC, Elements of the Information Security Plan (ISP), Protecting the Workplace, Protecting Financial Data and Navigating the Cyber Insurance Process. These define challenges and reference key authorities.

2. Appendices covering Access Control and Data Security Management, Operations Security, Protection from Malware, Logging and Monitoring, Intrusion Detection and Physical and Environmental Security.
