Synopsis
The debut collection of poems from Appalachian writer Tucker Riggleman. Broken into two cohesive parts, Japanese Maple takes the reader on a journey through a troubled past, tinged with hopeful desperation. While much of this collection can be seen as auto-biographical in nature, at its core these poems tell the tale of a perceptive young adult grappling with the beautiful lonesomeness of leaving his home state of West Virginia, and all of the wonders and heartache that entails.

About the Author
Tucker Riggleman is an Appalachian writer fascinated with both location and time. Born and raised in the countryside surrounding the factory town of Moorefield, West Virginia, Riggleman has made a lifetime out of being out of place. An alumnus of Shepherd University, Riggleman has devoted his writing to the deciphering and contemplation of his rural upbringing. His writing is equal parts memoir and warning sign.
