Synopsis

That something for Rob Raban was cancer, specifically, non-Hodgkins Peripheral T-cell Lymphoma, Stage 4. The cancer was present on his seventh right rib and throughout the lymph nodes in his underarms, neck, and chest. Rob was thirty-nine years old.As a young husband and the father of three elementary school-aged boys, Rob was terrified of leaving them fatherless. Upon hearing the diagnosis, Rob asked his oncologist what the prognosis was and what to tell his sons. The oncologist took off her glasses, consulted the chart, commented that she also had three boys, and started to cry. Rob was unwilling to accept her tears. “God is not afraid of this cancer,” Rob stood up to say, “and we won’t be afraid of it either.” And so begins the story of Rob’s fight against cancer and how he was able to give this disease over fully to God. Trusting God with Cancer is the author’s vulnerable account of his journey into this realm of fear, and he provides a roadmap to help others successfully navigate this world.
