Synopsis
Spring and Summer have come and gone and along with the fall colors new mysteries arrive at The French Country Inn. Former Chicago cop, now police chief of a rural tourist town, moved to Wisconsin to find peace and solitude, but instead he comes face to face with a Chicago crime syndicate. Action and intrigue ensue as Chicago henchmen follow a mysterious duo on the run. Where is the missing 1929 Phaeton Packard one owned by notorious gangster and frequent Inn guest George Moran? Who is the cat burglar the local denizens are obsessed with and why has Chief's best friend arrived in town with a sensual blonde in tow? Will he be able to handle the crime wave that has invaded his quiet little burg?

About the Author
To those who know him best, Clyde Deighton is the most uninteresting man in the world. Taciturn by nature and reclusive by design, he spends most of his time pursuing the life of a novelist and poetaster. Born in the Midwest, Deighton did not stary far from his small village until he was 19. Before he tried his hand at writing, the author was a cucumber salesman, Christmas-tree grower, schoolteacher, and failed piano player. He had no hobbies or interests, but spends copious amounts of time watching 1950s Westerns on television. Even though he claimed to lack the ambition to write a sequel to Murder at The French Country Inn, the author has now published Man In Trouble, a second novel in the French Country Inn Mystery series. Deighton seldom travels beyond his home in rural Wisconsin. He does, however, make occasional forays to the Lake Geneva resort area, where he stays at the French Country Inn.
